A lot of celebrities have had their fair share of legal battles with their ex-partners after separations over the years in the industry. Many A-listers like Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Johnny Depp, and Amber Heard have made headlines over the years for their legal battles.

Clint Eastwood and Sondra Locke also went into a similar legal battle after the end of their relationship back in 1990. However, as years went by and the American actress was not given the things she was promised by Eastwood, the couple went into another legal battle back in 1996.

Clint Eastwood and Sondra Locke’s Palimony Suit

Sondra Locke filed for a $70 million palimony suit against her ex-husband, Clint Eastwood back in 1990 after their separation. The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter actress filed to get half of Eastwood’s earnings for the 14 years they were married and also for an equal half of the property they acquired together.

However, as Sondra Locke was diagnosed with breast cancer, the former couple decided to settle things outside the court after their 19 months of battle. According to sources, Sondra Locke was provided a $1.5 million multiyear film deal with Warner Bros studio that was set up by Clint Eastwood other than $450,000 in cash and properties.

Sondra Locke filed a fraud suit against the Pale Rider actor

After the settlement of their palimony trial, Sondra Locke allegedly proposed 30 movies to the producers of Warner Bros studio between 1990 and 1993, all of which were turned down. As a result, Locke filed for $2 million lawsuit against her ex-husband Clint Eastwood.

Attorney Peggy Garrity who fought on behalf of the Sudden Impact actress started the opening arguments in court by saying, “This deal with Warner Bros. was a sham. It was not real.” She further added, “She [Locke] has not done any work as a film director since she made that deal with Warner Bros. It caused her serious harm and destroyed her directorial career.

However, as the jury was all set to announce their decision in favor of Sondra Locke, the American actress had reached a deal again with Eastwood outside the court for an undisclosed amount of money.

Sondra Locke also went on to sue Warner Bros Studios for conspiring with Clint Eastwood to hurt her reputation as a director and this lawsuit was also settled outside the court.
