Tim McGraw Admits He Was Too Scared To Talk To His Yellowstone Brother Harrison Ford: “I Can’t… I Can’t Do It”

Even though Tim McGraw and Harrison Ford have a Yellowstone connection, McGraw couldn’t build up the nerve to say “Hi” to the 1923 actor in a recent run in with Ford.

In a recent interview on The Highway’s Storme Warren Show (Sirius XM)McGraw and Warren were discussing the connections between McGraw’s James Dutton character in the Yellowstone spinoff 1883 and Ford’s portrayal of Jacob Dutton in 1923.

Storme Warren commended both of the Yellowstone spinoffs, and complimented the exquisite acting of everyone involved, including Academy Award Winner Helen Mirren.

McGraw, who played James Dutton in the now ever-expanding Yellowstone universe, spoke highly of both the esteemed actors in 1923:

“She’s (Mirren) fantastic. I mean, Faith and I both were thinking, ‘You know, who would ever thought that Harrison Ford was gonna be my brother?’ And then Helen Mirren was gonna be a Dutton.

I mean, we are part of a pretty good family there, I think. Kevin Costner and Harrison Ford, come on.”

Farther along in the conversation, Warren asked what all Yellowstone fans were thinking: has everyone from all the Yellowstone shows hung out together all at once? Specifically, Warren wanted to know if McGraw and Ford, who play brothers in the two connected shows, had a chance to sit down together.

McGraw responded by saying they had not had a chance to hang out just yet, but he did happen to see him in a hotel lobby near Stanford University.

However, when McGraw did catch sight of the legendary Harrison Ford, he couldn’t summon the courage to say hi, even though McGraw’s daughter pleaded him to go try:

“We were having breakfast at the hotel there one morning, and Harrison Ford walked in and she’s (McGraw’s daughter) a huge Star Wars fan. And it was one of the times that I was scared to death to go say to something to him. So I didn’t go up and say anything to him.

sually my daughters are like, ‘Dad, don’t… just sort of put your hat down. I don’t want anybody to notice you’re here.’

But this time she was like, ‘Dad, do you need to go over and say hi to Harrison Ford.’ I’m like, ‘I can’t… I can’t. I can’t do it.’”

Even big stars get starstruck.

The ’90s country legend just couldn’t approach the intimidating Harrison Ford. If only McGraw could’ve summoned the grit of his Dutton family roots, maybe he would’ve been able to talk to his on-screen (sort of) brother.

Tim McGraw Releases New Single “Standing Room Only”

Tim is back in the saddle with the release of his latest single, “Standing Room Only,” the lead single from his upcoming album.

Written by Craig Wiseman, Tommy Cecil and Patrick Murphy, the new track is an introspective look at what it means to really live life to the fullest:

“‘Standing Room Only’ caught my ear the first time I heard it because of its message. For me, this song is so positive and life affirming. It isn’t about the funeral or the procession, it’s about how we live in the here and now.

How do we push ourselves and in which direction do we push ourselves? For me, it’s a reminder to live a life filled with gratitude and not take things for granted. Also, it’s a reminder to give back and be there for others.”
