Christine Brown was forced to hold back tears while speaking about her relationship with Kody Brown, in a new clip from the premiere episode of Sister Wives.
Christine, 50, announced that she was calling it quits with Kody, 53, in November, and the upcoming season will follow the months leading up to the breakup. Kody and Christine share six children.
The show’s Instagram account posted a sneak peek from the season premiere, where the former couple speaks about their lack of physical intimacy.
“I asked you that night if it was over like if our intimate part of our marriage was over, you said it was over,” Christine reminded her soon-to-be ex.
“No, I just shrugged my shoulders. I didn’t tell you it was over,” Kody replied.
Christine then recalled a previous discussion where Kody confessed that he was not “attracted” to her.
Kody denied Christine’s assertion, stating—”Christine, I didn’t use those words at all.”
Christine insisted that Kody had repeatedly told her that he was not interested in a physical relationship.
“Well, you used the words enough in the past,” Kody’s third wife said.
“I said – I shrugged my shoulders and said, ‘we’ll see.’ I didn’t use those words,” Kody explained.
Kody opened up in a confessional spot, explaining that he was not interested in intimacy after hearing rumors of Christine’s plan to leave the spiritual marriage.
“You know, I don’t want to get all confrontational here,” the TLC patriarch said. “She had been telling family members that she was wanting to leave me. We’re talking, I think, a year or so ago. She’s been telling everybody she wants to leave, and she’s never told me. She’s never talked to me about it.”
He added angrily—”So when she says that she asks me if we’re ever going to be intimate, I’m hearing rumors from everybody that she’s been threatening to leave. She hasn’t been talking to me. I shrugged my shoulders because I’m not going to fool around with a woman who’s talking about leaving me.”

Kody remains in a legal marriage with Robyn Brown and in spiritual unions with Meri Brown and Janelle Brown.
Christine fought back tears during her own personal interview.
“He didn’t just shrug his shoulders. Can you imagine? It was one of the most humiliating experiences of my life. I don’t want to be married to a guy who’s just gonna shrugs his shoulders when I’m asking him if we’re gonna have an intimate marriage,” the mom of six said, before sarcastically mimicking her husband.
“I don’t know. I don’t know. I guess that depends entirely on you,” she said. “Well, bulls**t that.”
Christine revealed that she was ending the 25-year spiritual marriage during last season’s finale.
“The intimate part of our marriage is over,” she said. “And to be honest, I’m not okay with that. I’m not okay with staying in a marriage where there’s no intimacy. That’s not a real marriage. I’m not interested in a half marriage or a partial marriage or whatever we have.”
Season 17 of Sister Wives premieres on September 11 at 10 pm, ET, on TLC.
