‘Yellowstone’ TV: Here’s Why Jennifer Landon Wanted to Play Teeter

Jennifer Landon takes on the role of the Texas-talking Teeter. She might be hard to understand on the hit show “Yellowstone,” but we hear her loud and clear on why she wanted this role.

Jennifer Landon joins the “Yellowstone” cast for season 3. John Dutton (Kevin Costner) bends his rules on hiring women as ranch hands, but Teeter proves that she deserves that paycheck. Her colleagues, and fans, struggle to understand her as she hails from Texas. The Montanans aren’t used to her Texas accent (but we must admit no one from Texas really sounds like that).

However, she finds her place in the bunkhouse and settles in nicely. But when it comes to what actually inspired Landon to the role, she reveals it was her father, Michael Landon, who died in 1991.

Landon’s father is best known for his roles on “Bonanza” and “Little House on the Prairie.” He even starred in western films like “Wanted Dead or Alive” and “The Legend of Tom Dooley.”

“He died when I was seven. Little House was on in the morning so I used to watch it before school,” Jennifer Landon explains, according to Express. “I had never seen the pilot of that show and right before I started working on Yellowstone I was like ‘I should make sure I watch all of Little House on the Prairie’.”

What’s more, Jennifer Landon had starred in “Highway to Heaven” when she was five-years-old. The actress was able to watch the series with her father while he was still alive.

Jennifer Landon’s character definitely makes a statement on the record-breaking show. The “Yellowstone” cast calls her “the character you just can’t prepare for” and actress Kelly Reilly, who plays Beth Dutton, says Teeter was the “role of the season”.
